Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 14, 2026

1. Overview

NuKowd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have. By using NuKowd, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Account information: Your email address when you sign up. If you use Google OAuth, we receive your name and email from Google.
  • Payment information: Subscription and billing details are handled by Stripe or, if you choose to pay with PayPal, by PayPal. NuKowd does not store your card number, expiry, or CVV, and we do not receive your PayPal login or funding source. We retain only the identifiers associated with your account, such as your Stripe customer ID or PayPal subscription ID.
  • Usage data: The number of AI generations you perform per product per month, used to enforce subscription limits and display usage history.
  • Generated content: The inputs you submit and the outputs produced by NuKowd tools, stored to power your generation history feature.
  • Technical data: Basic request metadata (browser type, IP address) collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure for security and operational purposes. For the support chat and support form, we also keep your IP address ourselves for a short time to prevent abuse (see section 6).
  • Analytics and advertising-measurement data: Information about the pages you visit and the actions you take, collected through Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel and Conversions API. See section 8 for exactly what is collected and by whom.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Create and manage your account and subscription.
  • Deliver the AI generation features you've subscribed to.
  • Display your generation history within the app.
  • Send transactional emails: account confirmation, trial expiry notifications, and billing receipts.
  • Enforce usage limits and detect abuse.
  • Understand how people find and use NuKowd, and improve the platform, including through Google Analytics (see section 8).
  • Measure whether our own advertising works, by telling Meta when a visitor starts a trial, registers, or subscribes (see section 8).

We advertise NuKowd on Meta's platforms, and the measurement described in section 8 is how we tell which ads lead to sign-ups and purchases. We do not sell your personal data for money, and we do not give anyone the content you generate in NuKowd. We do not use your data for any advertising other than measuring our own.

4. Your Generated Content

Your inputs and AI-generated outputs are stored in our database to power the generation history feature accessible within your account. We do not use your generated content to train AI models — your content is processed by the Anthropic Claude API and is subject to Anthropic's usage policies, but it is not fed back into model training by NuKowd.

You own your generated outputs. See our Terms of Service for details on intellectual property.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your account and generation data is stored in Supabase, a US-based database platform. Payment data is stored and processed by Stripe or PayPal, depending on how you pay. All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure. We recommend using a strong, unique password for your NuKowd account.

6. Support Requests

When you contact us through the support form in the chat widget, we store your message so we can respond and keep track of what people ask for. Each request is stored with your name (if you give one), your email address, the type of request you choose (for example bug, feature request, billing, or a question), the tool it is about, the page you were on when you opened the form, and the date. If you are signed in, the request is also linked to your NuKowd account. The message is also delivered by email to our support inbox, using Resend.

We use support requests to answer you, to fix problems, and — in aggregate — to see how many people ask for the same improvement, which helps us decide what to build. We do not use them for marketing.

Messages you type into the support chat assistant are sent to Anthropic's API to generate replies. We do not store the text of those chat conversations. If you then choose to send a message to our team, the last few messages of the chat are included in the email we receive, as context, but not in the stored request.

Retention. We keep support requests for up to 24 months after you send them, and then delete them.

Deletion. When your account is deleted, support requests linked to it are deleted with it. A request you sent without being signed in is not linked to any account, so it stays until the 24 months are up unless you ask us to remove it sooner: email support@nukowd.com from the address you used, and we will delete the request, and our email copy of it, within 30 days.

Abuse prevention. To keep the support chat and support form available to everyone, we record your IP address (or, if you are signed in, your account) with each chat message and each support form submission, together with the time. These records contain no message content and are deleted after 7 days. Your IP address is not stored with the support request itself.

7. Email Communications

We send transactional emails only — messages that are necessary to operate the service. These include:

  • Account confirmation emails on signup.
  • Trial expiry notifications as your free trial nears its end.
  • Payment receipts and billing notifications from Stripe or PayPal.

We do not send marketing or promotional emails without your explicit consent. If we introduce a newsletter or product updates email in the future, it will be strictly opt-in.

8. Cookies, Analytics and Advertising Measurement

NuKowd uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. Some are essential to run the service. Others measure how the site is used and how our advertising performs. We do not currently show a cookie banner or offer an in-site preference control for these.

Essential cookies. We set a session cookie, and related browser storage, to keep you signed in. The service does not work without them.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to understand how people use NuKowd. It sets cookies in your browser (such as _ga) and receives the pages you visit, including the page address, your browser and device type, your approximate location, and the actions we report to it, such as starting a trial. It loads on all pages of the site, including the app after you sign in. It does not receive the content you generate. The information is tied to a cookie identifier rather than your name, but it is not anonymous.

Meta Pixel and Conversions API. We use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API (Meta) to measure how our advertising on Meta's platforms performs, that is, which ads lead to sign-ups, trials and purchases. The Pixel is a script that runs in your browser on our public pages and on the sign-up and trial pages. It does not run inside the app after you sign in or on the sign-in and account-confirmation pages. It sets cookies (_fbp, and _fbc when you arrive from a Meta ad) and reports page views and key actions. The Conversions API reports the same actions from our servers.

For key actions (starting a free trial, completing registration, and subscribing), we may send Meta: your email address and your NuKowd user ID, each converted into a scrambled code (a hash) before sending; your IP address and browser user agent; the _fbp and _fbc cookie values; the type of action; for purchases, the amount paid and the currency; and the address of the page, limited to its path and campaign tags (such as the ad click ID) and the bundle you picked. Hashing is not the same as anonymising: Meta can compare a hashed email address with the email addresses of its own users to match an action to a Meta account. Meta may use this information to measure and improve advertising under its own privacy policy. We do not send Meta the content you generate, your password, or your payment card details.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and browser extensions and privacy settings can block these scripts. Google provides an opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, and you can control the ads Meta shows you at facebook.com/adpreferences. Blocking cookies that are not essential will not stop you using NuKowd.

9. Third-Party Services

NuKowd integrates with the following third-party services to operate:

  • Supabase — authentication and database (US-based).
  • Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy.
  • PayPal — payment processing for customers who pay with PayPal. PayPal's privacy statement applies to payment data: paypal.com/us/legalhub/privacy-full.
  • Anthropic (Claude API) — AI inference. Inputs you submit are sent to Anthropic's API to generate outputs.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Vercel — hosting and serverless infrastructure.
  • Google Analytics — site usage analytics (see section 8).
  • Meta — advertising measurement through the Meta Pixel and Conversions API (see section 8).
  • Atlas Cloud — video generation for Scene Forge. The text prompt for each shot, which is generated from the scene and character descriptions you enter, is sent to Atlas Cloud with video settings such as length, resolution, and aspect ratio. We send it from our servers under our own account, with no name, email address, or user ID attached, but the prompt itself may contain anything you wrote in your descriptions. Generated videos are stored temporarily on Atlas Cloud's storage and delivered to you through NuKowd.
  • Google (sign-in and Google Docs) — If you sign in with Google, Google gives us your name and email address, and Google learns that you signed in to NuKowd. If you connect Google Docs for Doc Sync AI, you grant NuKowd the access Google's permission screen lists, which is broader than what we use: we read only the specific document you ask us to fetch, and we write to a Google Doc only when you export to one. We keep a token that lets us do this until you disconnect in your Account settings, and you can also remove NuKowd's access in your Google Account. Google receives the requests we make on your behalf, including any text we write to your document.

We select providers that maintain appropriate data protection standards. Most of these providers process your data only to provide their service to us. Google Analytics and Meta are different: they are measurement services, and their own policies allow them to use the data they receive for their own purposes, as described in section 8.

10. What Happens to Your Saved Work When Your Access Ends

When your access to NuKowd ends — your subscription has ended, or your free trial has expired and you have not subscribed — we keep the work you saved for 30 days, and then delete it. “Saved work” means the documents, scenes, names and properties you saved in the tools, the records attached to them (such as a character's project links or a property's characters, submissions and notes), your generation history, and Character Dossier photos.

During those 30 days you can export everything from the documents page in your account. You do not need an active subscription to do that.

We warn you before it happens. While the 30 days are running, a notice in the app tells you the date your saved work will be deleted, and we email you when your access ends, again partway through, and once more shortly before the date. Each notice states the same date. If you have added and verified a secondary email address, the emails go to both addresses.

If your access is restored at any point before that date — for example, you subscribe again — nothing is deleted. A payment that has failed but is still being retried does not start the 30 days.

What we keep. Deleting your saved work does not delete you. We keep your account, your profile, your subscription and billing records, your support requests (section 6 explains how long those are kept), and similar account records. We also keep a deletion record containing the email address on your account at the time, the date of the deletion, the number of warnings we sent and when, whether you opened your documents page or exported your work, and a count of how many records were removed from each part of the service. It holds counts only, none of your content. We keep it so that we can answer you honestly if you ever ask what was deleted and when.

To have your account and the data described above deleted as well, see section 11.

11. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To request account and data deletion — including your profile, subscriptions, and generation history — contact us at contact@nukowd.com.

We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Note that some data may be retained for legal or billing compliance purposes even after account deletion, such as records of transactions.

Separately from a deletion request, your saved work is deleted automatically 30 days after your access ends, as described in section 10.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice within the app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
